Project Luminous vs Luminous Matrix
Did you hear about the upcoming “Project Luminous” that was teased at the Star Wars publishing panel at New York Comic Con this past Friday (11 October 2019)?
A “Project Luminous” slide appeared at the panel with the message, “The Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It’s an energy field created by all living things… Until…Project Luminous, 2020.” The first part of that message is a direct quote of Obi-Wan Kenobi in A New Hope. The “until” suggests that something will change when “Project Luminous” debuts sometime in 2020.
The project is out in the open, but also maintaining a shroud of secrecy / mystery which leads some (including myself) to wonder if the story evolves out of the events of the upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the third installment of the Star Wars sequel trilogy and last of the Skywalker Saga. With the return of Darth Sidious, Emperor Palpatine (the Dark Lord of the Sith), it is possible that The Rise of Skywalker will either reveal something significant and new about the Force or include an event that changes the nature of the Force forever. Are “they” trying to protect some plot “leaks” that would occur from releasing any real details in “Project Luminous” prior to Rise of Skywalker?
Changing gears…
Of course, people have asked if I knew about something before everyone else based on the “Luminous Matrix” handle/name. Unfortunately, I must chalk it up to dumb luck. I chose Luminous Matrix based on all of the topics I discuss and look into on the channel – Making it almost impossible to have a handle that would lock me into just one genre.
Regardless, I am excited about what the future holds with “Project Luminous”. From the looks of it, this will be a multi-media project including books, comics, and more based on the Del Ray and IDW Publishing logos.
